Baseball Game Preview: Verbena Red Devils vs. Jemison Panthers

The Verbena Red Devils will take on the Jemison Panthers in a tournament on Monday.

Verbena's last matchup with West Blocton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. Verbena lost 8-2 to West Blocton. The Red Devils have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, Jemison had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Generals.

Verbena's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Jemison, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Verbena came out on top in a nail-biter against Jemison in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Will Verbena repeat their success, or does Jemison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
