Basketball Recap: Richland Northeast Takes a Loss

Richland Northeast had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 11-12 to make it four. They took a blow against the South Pointe Stallions, falling 71-25. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.

As for South Pointe, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.2 points over those games.

South Pointe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JaNyia Cunningham, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Cunningham is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Kaleigh Lucas was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 20 points and nine steals.

As of now, neither Richland Northeast nor South Pointe have any future games scheduled.
