Soccer Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the El Paso Tigers. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 710th, while El Paso are ranked 146th).

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for El Paso, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Jefferson will challenge rival Canutillo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, El Paso is set to square off against their familiar foe Burges at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
