Baseball Recap: Opelika Comes Up Short

Opelika and Auburn pushed the score to 16-3 the last time they played Auburn, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bulldogs fell 3-0 to the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Opelika's loss dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Auburn, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-14.

While Opelika had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
