Truckee came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the South Tahoe Vikings with a sharp 11-5 win. Considering the Wolverines have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Logan Arata, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Truckee: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cortez Sherman, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Truckee's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Tahoe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Truckee beat South Tahoe by a score of 5-0 later that day.
