Baseball Recap: Thornton Academy Beats Massabesic for Their Fourth Straight Win

Thornton Academy got themselves on the board against Massabesic on Thursday, but Massabesic never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Mustangs. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Thornton Academy got a great performance from Beck Edgerly as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Edgerly has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brennan Tabor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dominic Hussey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Thornton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Massabesic only posted an OBP of .158.

The victory keeps Thornton Academy at an undefeated 7-0-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Massabesic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.
