Baseball Recap: Gretna's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Gretna can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They blew past the William Campbell Generals 10-1. The Hawks not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16th (when they won 22-12).

Addison Doss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Owen Shelton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Walden, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Gretna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 3-14. As for William Campbell, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.
