Basketball Recap: Glenelg Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Glenelg had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Northeast Eagles 45-42. The victory was some much needed relief for the Gladiators as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Brynn Jones and Starr Munford certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jones dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, while Munford posted 11 points. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season.

Glenelg's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Northeast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Glenelg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-42 victory against North East on the 28th. Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
