Baseball Recap: Basic Find Success

The Basic Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over the Westminster Christian Warriors on Thursday.

Andruw Giles and Koa Won did most of the damage at the plate: Giles scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Won went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those two hits gave Won a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallon Cegavske, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Basic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Basic's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Westminster Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-1 record this season.

Basic will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Faith Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
