Softball Recap: Pine Grove Comes Up Short

If Pine Grove was feeling good fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Ashland last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pine Grove came up short against the Myrtle Hawks on Thursday, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Pine Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Memory Mauney, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Pine Grove dropped their record down to 11-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Myrtle, their record is now 8-2.

Coincidentally, Pine Grove and Myrtle will both be playing Jumpertown the next time they take the field. Myrtle will head out to face Jumpertown at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Pine Grove will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
