Baseball Recap: Merrill Wins Going Away Against Coleman

Merrill never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Coleman Comets. The Vandals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Merrill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coleman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Merrill will face off against rival Sacred Heart Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vandals 3.4, the Irish 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Coleman is set to take on their familiar foe Carson City-Crystal at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
