Baseball Game Preview: Central Valley Hawks vs. Pitman Pride

The Central Valley Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Pitman Pride at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Central Valley narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Linden 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Central Valley got a great performance from Nicholas Dominguez as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Dominguez a new career-high.

At the plate, Central Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Edgar Peralta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Peralta also stole a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Another was Mason Whitworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Pitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to Oakdale.

Central Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
