The Adams City Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Overland Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Adams City is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Adams City lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Aurora Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Eagles put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 14-2 victory on Thursday. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Christian Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jiovani Barajas, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Miguel Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Adams City hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora Central struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Overland's offense. They came up short against Northfield on Saturday, falling 28-0. The shutout was out of character for the Trailblazers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
Overland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayan Ascensio, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Adams City's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Overland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Adams City has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Adams City took their win against Overland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
