Baseball Recap: Gadsden County Takes a Loss

Gadsden County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-18. They came up short against the Jefferson County Tigers, falling 21-4. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in February of 2025.

As for Jefferson County, their record is now 5-17. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Jefferson County's part, Tyler Crawford looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Crawford a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jefferson County got a massive performance out of Tre Scott, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Scott a new career-high. Kale Hendry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gadsden County will head out to take on Wakulla Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season. As for Jefferson County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Munroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
