After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crown Point, Lake Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against Portage as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for Lake Central, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-17.

Kailey Skurka paced Lake Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Skurka got some help from Lilly Barth and her 15 assists. Alexa Iwema controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Lake Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Portage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Central will welcome Michigan City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portage, they will take on Munster at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
