Palmyra is 7-1 against Mechanicsburg since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Palmyra is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Northeastern, who was ranked 15th at the time (Palmyra was ranked 14th). The Cougars came up short against the Bobcats on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg lost 3-0 to Cumberland Valley on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Wildcats seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

While Mechanicsburg had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Palmyra's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Mechanicsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

Palmyra came out on top in a nail-biter against Mechanicsburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
