Hanford West is 9-1 against Golden West since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hanford West Huskies will venture away from home to face off against the Golden West Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. Hanford West is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Last Tuesday, Hanford West beat Hanford 8-3.
Rylan Montoya spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adyson Owens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kennidy Perryman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Hanford West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanford only posted a batting average of .042.
Meanwhile, Golden West never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Exeter. The win continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won five in a row.
Erin Fawkes was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Aniyah Venegas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilynn Daleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Golden West's record now sits at 6-3. As for Hanford West, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hanford West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Golden West struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hanford West took their win against Golden West in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanford West since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
