Volleyball Game Preview: Minden Whippets vs. Cozad Haymakers

Minden is a perfect 10-0 against Cozad since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Whippets will venture away from home to square off against the Haymakers at 4:00 p.m. Minden is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Minden is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Holdrege, who was ranked 21st at the time (Minden was ranked 17th). The Whippets put the hurt on the Dusters with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Cozad unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Minden. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Haymakers have suffered since October 28, 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-5, 25-13.

Cozad's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Minden, their win bumped their record up to 21-7.

Minden took their victory against Cozad in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Whippets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
