Basketball Game Preview: Cordova Wolverines vs. Glennallen Panthers

Cordova is 2-8 against Glennallen since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Cordova Wolverines will host the Glennallen Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cordova is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They walked away with a 59-46 win over Tok.

Meanwhile, Glennallen strolled past Delta with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 35-17. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Huskies are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cordova took a serious blow against Glennallen in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 48-19. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Glennallen's Cheyenne Fields, who posted 32 points. Now that Cordova knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
