Volleyball Recap: Rising Sun Finds Home Court Redemption Against Lanesville

There's no place like home for Rising Sun, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Lanesville Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Shiners have posted since September 13th.

Rising Sun had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-18, 18-16.

Ryan Works paced Rising Sun's offense, picking up 16 kills. Works got some help from Reese Merica and her 28 assists. Works was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Rising Sun's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Lanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.

Rising Sun didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on the 11th. As for Lanesville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Edinburgh on the 11th.
