Basketball Recap: Saddleback Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Saddleback can now relate to. They fell just short of the Arroyo Knights by a score of 60-58 on Friday.

Despite the loss, Saddleback still got an impressive performance from Christopher Trotter, who went 8-for-16 to rack up 28 points. The game was Trotter's 16th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Angel Soberanis, who posted 16 points.

Even though they lost, Saddleback smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Saddleback's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Arroyo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Saddleback does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arroyo, they will challenge Rosemead at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
