Softball Recap: Tolland Takes a Loss

Tolland dropped their record down to 14-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Southington Blue Knights by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

As for Southington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 28th.

For Southington's part, Shelby Jordan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Jordan a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Aubrey Perugini was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Tolland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southington, they will take on New Britain at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
