Soccer Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton fell victim to Kecoughtan and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Hampton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Kecoughtan are ranked 63rd).

Hampton's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Kecoughtan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Hampton wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 2-2 draw against Heritage on the 19th. As for Kecoughtan, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 victory against Denbigh on the 19th.
