Basketball Recap: Butternut HomeSchoolers Comes Up Short

Butternut HomeSchoolers lost against Lapeer Lakers Homeschool back in January of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Butternut HomeSchoolers took a hard 56-37 fall against the Lapeer Lakers Homeschool Lakers. Butternut HomeSchoolers has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lapeer Lakers Homeschool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reed Cotton out in front who went 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Scally, who posted six points along with seven steals and five boards.

Butternut HomeSchoolers' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lapeer Lakers Homeschool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Butternut HomeSchoolers will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Algoma Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Lapeer Lakers Homeschool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-44 win against Shoreline HomeSchool on the 3rd.
