The Williamsport Millionaires will head out on the road to challenge the State College Little Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Williamsport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
State College will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Williamsport extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Millionaires' way against Shamokin Area as they made off with a 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Millionaires, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Christian Franzen made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Franzen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Williamsport: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, Camden March was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Ryan Schur was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Williamsport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, State College's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellefonte.
Williamsport's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for State College, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
State College's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Williamsport hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .358. It's a different story for State College, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Williamsport's hitters?
Williamsport suffered a grim 11-5 defeat to State College in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Millionaires avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
