Basketball Game Preview: Agua Fria Owls vs. Estrella Foothills Wolves

The Agua Fria Owls are taking a road trip to square off against the Estrella Foothills Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Agua Fria is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Agua Fria was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 68-64 to Peoria.

Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Westview, falling 70-50. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Knights are ranked 103rd).

Despite the loss, Estrella Foothills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Duncan posted ten points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Hone Wray, who put up six points.

Agua Fria now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Estrella Foothills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Agua Fria came up short against Estrella Foothills when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 57-44. Can Agua Fria avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
