Softball Game Preview: Wauseon Indians vs. Edon Bombers

The Wauseon Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Edon Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wauseon is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against St. Ursula Academy, falling 20-11. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Arrows 7-0 in the first period.

Abigail Kissel stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bella McGuire, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Edon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to Eastside.

Wauseon now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Edon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Wauseon's way against Edon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Wauseon made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
