Softball Game Preview: Ennis Mustangs vs. Anaconda Copperheads

The Ennis Mustangs will challenge the Anaconda Copperheads at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anaconda took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ennis, who comes in off a win.

Ennis not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024 (when they won 11-1). They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over Three Forks.

Adi Wood was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ruby Boggus, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Kayzli Ostler was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Anaconda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Thompson Falls, falling 15-4.

Anaconda's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ennis, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
