Softball Recap: Dwyer Comes Up Short

Dwyer lost against Melbourne back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dwyer Panthers lost 17-5 to the Melbourne Bulldogs. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fatima Masri made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Sejnoha, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Dwyer's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Melbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Dwyer will square off against Seminole Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Dwyer will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Melbourne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eau Gallie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Eau Gallie's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Melbourne's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
