Baseball Recap: Hooper Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Hooper Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 17-1 to the Edgewood Academy Wildcats. The Colts just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Hooper Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremy Griggs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Griggs also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Hooper Academy's record is now 1-4. As for Edgewood Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Hooper Academy will face off against Bessemer Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgewood Academy, they will square off against Ezekiel Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Ezekiel Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
