Basketball Recap: East Alton-Wood River Takes a Loss

East Alton-Wood River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost to the Salem Wildcats at home by a 69-53 margin. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Wildcats are ranked 203rd).

East Alton-Wood River's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-14.

As of now, neither East Alton-Wood River nor Salem have any future games scheduled.
