Soccer Game Preview: Carlmont vs. Burlingame

Carlmont and Burlingame are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Carlmont Scots will face off against the Burlingame Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlmont's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Carlmont gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They beat Woodside by a goal, winning 2-1. That's two games straight that the Scots have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Burlingame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Hillsdale. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 900th, while the FIGHTING KNIGHTS are ranked 91st).

Carlmont's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for Burlingame, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
