Baseball Recap: Prep Charter Takes a Loss

Prep Charter had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-5 to make it ten. They lost 14-3 to the Tacony Academy Charter Lions. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 16-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Tacony Academy Charter, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

For Tacony Academy Charter's part, they got a massive performance out of Eli Crespo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those seven stolen bases gave Crespo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Urbach, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Prep Charter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-4 loss against Philadelphia Performing Arts on the 16th. As for Tacony Academy Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against George Washington on the 21st.
