Softball Game Preview: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Dexter Tigers

The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will head out to take on the Dexter Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Foxcroft Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Mattanawcook hit Foxcroft Academy with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ponies came up short against the Lynx, falling 6-0.

Foxcroft Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadenne Frigon, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those hits marked the first that Frigon has got this season.

Meanwhile, Dexter suffered their closest defeat since May 21, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Central by a score of 6-4.

Maddisyn Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Cookson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Foxcroft Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Foxcroft Academy might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Dexter in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Ponies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
