Volleyball Recap: Mt. Markham Comes Up Short

Mt. Markham lost against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mt. Markham Mustangs came up short against the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils, falling 3-0.

Mt. Markham was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-23, 25-20.

Leading Vernon-Verona-Sherrill to victory were Daniel Berberick and Levi Lehnen. Berberick had ten digs and two aces, while Lehnen had ten digs and three assists. That's the most aces Berberick has posted in his last seven matches.

Mt. Markham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mt. Markham will welcome Herkimer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they are taking a road trip to take on Canastota at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
