Basketball Recap: Linden-Kildare Tigers vs. Harleton Wildcats
Linden-Kildare was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 78-23 defeat at the hands of the Harleton Wildcats. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 62-12 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Harleton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Skyler Karva, who went 5 for 7 en route to 20 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Karva a new career-high in points. Drake Phillips was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten boards.
Linden-Kildare's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Harleton, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-19.
A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Linden-Kildare Tigers face off against the Big Sandy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Big Sandy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. As for Harleton, they will take on Ore City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
