Madden Parisien commands the offense for Woodchucks win

Recap: St. John Woodchucks vs. Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans

The St. John Woodchucks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 70-68 victory over Drayton/Valley-Edinburg. The victory was a breath of fresh air for St. John as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

St. John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madden Parisien led the charge by scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parisien has scored all season. Simon LaRocque was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.

St. John's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

St. John will face off against Cavalier at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cavalier presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. John in North Dakota (Cavalier is ranked 32nd, while St. John is ranked 99th). As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, they will be playing at home against Langdon/Edmore/Munich at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
