Football Recap: Plymouth Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Benjamin Shively and Finnigan Holm

Plymouth played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Columbia City Eagles, falling 35-13. The Pilgrims/Rockies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Plymouth's loss came despite strong showings from Finnigan Holm and Benjamin Shively. Holm rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown, while Shively rushed for 56 yards and one TD.

A big part of Columbia City's win came down to the chemistry between Gabe McDevitt and his top target Lukas Duncan. McDevitt threw for 67 yards and three touchdowns while Duncan gained 67 total yards and a touchdown. Those 67 passing yards gave McDevitt a new career-high.

Plymouth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Columbia City, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Plymouth and Columbia City will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pilgrims/Rockies will challenge rival Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Columbia City is set to take on their familiar foe Bellmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
