Basketball Recap: Keely Webb's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dickson County over Clarksville

It was a proper cat-fight when Dickson County duked it out with Clarksville on Tuesday. The Dickson County Cougars lost to the Clarksville Wildcats on the road by a 45-30 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-41 back in January.

Dickson County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Keely Webb, who posted 11 points. Jenna Saine was another key player, putting up six points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Malon Smith was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-17 to rack up 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards for Clarksville. The contest was Smith's 15th in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Muiznieks, who earned seven points and five rebounds.

Dickson County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Clarksville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

Dickson County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-42 victory against Kenwood on the 11th. As for Clarksville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-44 loss against Rossview on the 7th.
