Football Game Preview: Lehman Lobos vs. Hays Hawks + How To Watch

Lehman hasn't had much luck against Hays recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lobos will square off against the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Lehman has given up an average of 52.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Lehman came up short against Cedar Creek and fell 35-28.

Lehman might have lost, but man, Gunner Winiecki was a machine: he threw for 304 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Kerry Green also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Meanwhile, Hays played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against A&M Consolidated, falling 45-13. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Tigers are ranked 48th).

Although Hays took the loss, they still got scores from Jayden Gingrow and Eyan Stigall.

Lehman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hays, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Lehman was dealt a bruising 42-3 loss at the hands of Hays in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lobos were down 28-3.
