Recap: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Findlay Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Springfield Blue Devils, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a serious blow against Findlay on Thursday, falling 66-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Springfield in their matchups with Findlay: they've now lost six in a row.
Springfield's loss came despite strong showings from Drew Martin and Kai Taylor. Martin scored seven points, while Taylor scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season.
Springfield bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Findlay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Springfield will be home for the holidays to greet Clay at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Clay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Findlay, they will head out on the road to face off against Anthony Wayne at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Anthony Wayne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 541st, while Findlay is ranked 36th).
