Basketball Game Preview: Prattville Lions vs. Thompson Warriors

The Prattville Lions will head out on the road to take on the Thompson Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Prattville has five straight victories, Thompson has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Prattville faced off against Tuscaloosa County on Tuesday. Prattville took their game with ease, bagging a 75-25 win over Tuscaloosa County. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Thompson had to suffer through a 72-21 loss at the hands of Hillcrest. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Patriots are ranked first).

Prattville pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Thompson, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Prattville against Thompson in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 66-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prattville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
