Football Recap: St. Francis Prep Takes a Loss

St. Francis Prep lost against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea back in September of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Terriers and the Vikings didn't end well, with the Terriers falling 21-7. The matchup marked the Terriers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jack Leary threw for 199 yards and one TD. Rocco Petronella was his top target, picking up 120 receiving yards. On the ground, Edward Diaz rushed for 35 yards.

St. Francis Prep's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Francis Prep will venture away from home to take on Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Terriers will need to watch out since the Gaels have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Monsignor Farrell at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
