Volleyball Recap: Conant Comes Up Short

Conant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Saint Viator Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20.

Conant's offense was headlined by Olivia Hohl and Sienna McCarthy, who picked up four kills apiece. McCarthy really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten. Hohl was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Gabriella Vitullo, who had eight digs and three assists. Those three assists gave her a new career-high.

Conant's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Saint Viator, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Conant has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Rolling Meadows on the 19th. As for Saint Viator, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Proviso West on the 19th.
