Basketball Recap: Valley Finds Home Court Redemption Against El Capitan

There's no place like home for Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the El Capitan Eagles 48-45. The Buffalos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles on Wednesday, too.

El Capitan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Porter Holm, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points. Riley Barlow was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for El Capitan, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, Valley and El Capitan will both be playing Milford the next time they take the court. The Eagles will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Buffalos will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
