Baseball Game Preview: Etna Lions vs. Los Molinos Bulldogs

The Etna Lions will challenge the Los Molinos Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Etna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Maxwell a 6-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Not much got past Kyle Fowle, who gave up just two hits to keep Maxwell off the board.

At the plate, Noah Hubbard and Clayton Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Hubbard went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Harris went 1-for-3 with one home run. Harris is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Emmett Stacher was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Los Molinos entered their tilt with Swett on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the game before.

Etna's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Los Molinos, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.

Etna beat Los Molinos 6-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
