Basketball Game Preview: Firth Cougars vs. West Jefferson Panthers

Firth and West Jefferson are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Firth Cougars face off against the West Jefferson Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Firth took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past West Jefferson with points to spare, taking the game 57-41.

Firth can attribute much of their success to Kinzlee Faulkner, who posted 18 points, and Georgiana Jolley, who earned 15 points. Faulkner is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylie Mecham, who put up nine points.

Firth pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for West Jefferson, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record.
