Volleyball Recap: Desert Scorpions vs. Antelope Valley Antelopes

Desert lost against Antelope Valley last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Desert Scorpions fell just short of the Antelope Valley Antelopes by a score of 3-2. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Desert took Antelope Valley into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 24-26, 19-25, 15-6.

Pai'Ea Koko paced Desert's offense, picking up 13 kills. Koko got some help from Benny Baladez and his 17 assists. Koko was also a major player on defense: he and he shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Desert's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Antelope Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Desert is taking a road trip to take on Palmdale Academy Charter School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Antelope Valley, they will square off against Rosamond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
