Football Recap: Monte Vista Christian Mustangs vs. St. Francis Sharks
After flying high against Seaside last Saturday, Monte Vista Christian came back down to earth. The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs had to suffer through a 56-29 loss at the hands of the St. Francis Sharks. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Monte Vista Christian lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dominic Pierini, who threw for 422 yards and two touchdowns. Pierini's passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 342 passing yards. Another receiver making a difference was Boston Ashe, who picked up 193 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Monte Vista Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
As of now, neither Monte Vista Christian nor St. Francis have any future games scheduled.
