Basketball Recap: Rossville Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Bayou Academy

Rossville Christian Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bayou Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of 6's game. The Rossville Christian Academy Wolves blew past the Bayou Academy Colts, posting a 77-43 win. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 45-42 victory the Colts walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Rossville Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Zach Portwood went 9 of 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists and Fred Motley went 9 for 14 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. With that strong performance, Portwood is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Brooks, who posted eight points.

Rossville Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Rossville Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Bayou Academy, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Bayou Academy will take on Oak Forest Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
